PROCESS WORK TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
l
Process Work is a cross-disciplinary approach to individual and collective change. It developed in the 1970's and 1980's when Dr. Arnold Mindell, a Jungian analyst in Zurich, Switzerland, began researching illness as a meaningful expression of the unconscious mind.

Also known as process-oriented psychology or dreambody work, Process Work offers new ways of working with areas of life that are experienced as problematic or painful. Physical symptoms, relationship problems, group conflicts and social tensions: all these experiences, when approached with curiosity and respect, can lead to new information that is vital for our personal or collective growth.

With its roots in Jungian psychology, Taoism and physics, Process Work believes that the solution to a problem is contained within the disturbance itself and provides a practical framework through which individuals, couples, families and groups can connect with greater awareness and creativity.

Training in Process Work is available at a number of locations throughout the world. Descriptions of the training programs, as well as locations where they are available, are available below.
 FORMAL PROCESS WORK TRAINING PROGRAMS

MA IN CONFLICT FACILITATION & OGANIZATIONAL CHANGE
The Masters of Arts program in Conflict Facilitation and Organizational Change (MACFOC) is a limited-residency degree program, and offers an independent learning approach to graduate education. Understanding that emotions and personal experience are intrinsic to conflict and change, the program blends academic study and research with experiential skills, personal growth and awareness. It is designed to increase the facilitator?s awareness of his or her cultural attitudes, communication style, relationship skills, and the effects these have on group life and conflict situations.

This three-year program is comprised of two residential periods per year, held in Portland, Oregon, one in autumn and one in spring. The course material covered during the residential periods will be applied in students' home communities through work in supervised internships.

For more information, please see the MA in Conflict Facilitation & Organizational Change pages at the Process Work Institute ( PWI) web site.
MA IN PROCESS WORK
The Master of Arts in Process Work Degree Program is a four-year program that leads to the Master of Arts in Process Work degree. It is a training program in process work, available to those who reside in the state of Oregon. The program is based on a three-year cycle of work, followed by a year of internship and research. The student's theoretical knowledge and practical skills are examined at the end of the second year. Although recipients of the Master of Arts in Process Work degree are not automatically considered certified process workers, those who are recommended by their study committees and satisfy requirements for personal work and supervision equivalent to those required by the diploma program may go on to complete the Diploma in Process Work by entering an evaluation process and doing final examinations.

For more information, please see the MA in Process Work pages at the PWI website.
DIPLOMA PROGRAM
The Diploma Program is a four year program that leads to the diploma in process work. Recipients have the right to call themselves certified process workers. The diploma program is primarily external: students attend seminars in their own region, which, together with the required and recommended stays in Portland, cover the entire curriculum over a three-year period, followed by a year of internship. Their work is evaluated by theoretical and practical examinations after the first two years of study, and again at the end of the final year. The diploma must be renewed at five-year intervals through continuing education and peer evaluation.
