HEATHROW
If you arrive at Heathrow, there are different ways to travel into central London:

GATWICK

  • Gatwick Express - A train leaves every 30 minutes for the centre of London at Victoria Station

LONDON CITY AIRPORT
If you travel from the Continent, you might want to check if you can come in into London City Airport. It is the most comfortable to use among all London Airports. You can travel by Docklands Light Railway DLR and transfer with the tube.

STANSTEAD OR LUTON
If you are using a low-cost airline such as EasyJet or Ryan-air, check the website of:

to find the various ways to reach central London

Travel within London

London has good network of underground, bus and train services. There are different discounts available for the travel. If you’re attending MINDELL’S pre conference seminar or spending two days visiting London, the most useful item for your travels within London besides a good London map and guide-book is the:

oysterOyster Card
The Oyster Card is a ‘PAY AS YOU GO’ card. You can buy it online before you leave home or better, you can buy it at the first subway / tube station in London or in a newspaper stand that advertises for it without having to fill out a longish form. Ask for an OYSTER CARD for minimum 10 GBP – plus 3 pounds for the card, and you will have enough for traveling around in London during your stay. Make sure to follow the guidelines – show it to the computer both at the beginning of your travel and when you exit (except on busses and boats).

LONDON TRANSPORT
If you need to take the train, or want to walk through London, make sure to visit the LONDON TRANSPORT website that has a route planner and gives you information about various ways of reaching your destination http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl

CABWISE

cabwiseTransport for London has launched a service to help you get home safely. It's a text message facility called 'Cabwise'. When you're out and about, just text 'HOME' to 60835 and the telephone numbers of your two nearest licensed minicab operators will be sent directly to your mobile phone.
